Measurement Engineer

Job Description

Preparation of measurement reports for plastic parts, assemblies and other components as part of tool qualification.

  • Conception of necessary measuring devices in coordination with the project team
  • Preparation of machine, process and measuring equipment capability tests by means of the software specified for this purpose on your own responsibility.
  • Independent creation of 3D false color comparisons
  • Independent creation of reports for internal measurement services (e.g. assembly analysis)
  • Independent review of existing part drawings with regard to measurability, dimensional errors, standards specifications
  • Independent clarification of metrological problems if necessary in a team.
  • Independent creation of measuring programs for 3D coordinate measuring machines (e.g. Zeiss/Werth) as well as computed tomography
  • Independent creation of measurement reports for plastic components based on 2D drawings
  • Independent work preparation incl. weekly and daily planning for measurement tasks
  • Independent coordination of measurement orders of weekly tasks (e.g. prioritization according to RS with manager)
  • Verification of test results
  • Reaction in case of deviation according to internal process specifications

 

Qualifications

  • Educational Background:

    • Completed a 3-year technical apprenticeship, complemented by further professional development, such as a technician certification.
    • Advanced knowledge in measurement technology, ideally supported by certifications (e.g. AUKOM).
  • Professional Experience:

    • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a similar field of responsibility.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Expert knowledge of testing equipment, such as:
      • Zeiss Contura G2, Zeiss O-Inspect 8/6/3, Werth VideoCheck 400, Zeiss Metrotom 800.
      • Universal measuring microscope, profile projector, dial gauge.
    • Proficient in interpreting and handling technical drawings.
    • Strong understanding of test methods, measurement technology, and relevant QM guidelines.
    • Expertise in preparing detailed technical reports.
    • Basic knowledge of occupational safety regulations related to functional tests, including technical, organizational, and personal protective measures.
  • Software Skills:

    • Solid IT skills, particularly in MS Office programs and MES systems.
    • Proficiency in Minitab for evaluating Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and capability studies.
  • Additional Knowledge:

    • Basic understanding of GMP/GDP regulations.
    • Familiarity with failure analysis methods and root cause analysis.
    • Basic knowledge of statistical methods (e.g. key figures, data analysis, distributions).
  • Personal Competencies:

    • Good interpersonal skills, including sensitivity, sociability, and team orientation.
    • Emotional stability, resilience, and self-confidence.

    • Proficiency in risk identification and presentation.
